Just to clarify, it is just one person (The Ombudsman), not "folks". My previous comment was meant to illustrate the absurdity of such a suggestion.

Are folks on this thread suggesting we contact (communicate our plans to !!!) numbersusa? They are not going to listen to us, I can guarantee you that --- even if we tone down our demands! They might use our plans to develop a more effective strategy for themselves; they hate us from the bottom of their hearts. This is the most ridiculous and impractical thing I've heard in a while.

Got greened today !!. Just recieved CPO emails for me and spouse. Feels really great!!. the long wait has finally ended!... Thank you IV for your efforts. this site's been a great resource throughout the GC journey. You wouldn't have felt that way if you were EB-3 India sittinig for last 8 years, reading Visa Bulletins every months, just to find it still in Oct'2001...And if you ask USCIS what's going on they ask you 5K.
Funny how some people call this country cap 'discrimination.' If this is discrimination, then everybody is being discriminated, as the country cap applies to all countries, not just India and China. Since everybody is 'discriminated,' then it is not discrimination anymore.:)

If we are worried about security alert maight be raised by flowers, then send just a 'Thank You' card.
Send 'Thank you' card to USCIS/DOS etc. as well as to media for not covering REAL issues and for the undue coverage the likes of Paris get.

Everybody has been waiting for his/her green card and congratulations to all those who has got their GC. On the other hand it is really unfair and to some extent unethical on the part of USICS not follow a fair system.
There are several people in 2004, 2005 who have been paitently waiting for their turn only to see that people behind them getting approved.
Several of us have writtent to Ombudsman, Director but of no avail.
Not sure what else can be done? Any Idea? Do we have any liaison with AILA who can take up this matter.

I am an EB3 (so go ahead with your Red dots!)...
For any lawsuit, there needs to be a basis. What is the basis of your proposed lawsuit?
It has been standard operating procedure to process applications on a FIFO basis, subject to some granularity. People who feel they should get their GCs first because their PDs are older are sadly mistaken. Processing by USCIS is based on RD/ND. Not PD. So any lawsuit complaining about PD-FIFOs is not going to fly.
I highly doubt that any lawsuit which complains that NSC is slower than TSCs is not going to fly either. Each Service center has certain amount of staff, and allocation to jobs, they will be some discrepancy. If someone is able to make a lawsuit stick on this basis, let us know, we will build a avalanche of lawsuits because labor was not being approved in an orderly fashion in 2001-2004 time frame, all of which will then have a direct impact on all the 2004-2006 filers.
Go ahead and help us out. File your lawsuits, EB3s will join the party with our own lawsuits.

This is my first post.
My Employer's Inhouse Attorney ( one of big 4 ) says technically EB dependents ( all 1,2,3) must be classified under FAMILY quota. USCIS mis classifies them under EMPLOYMENT quota.
Is he technically correct ?
Since, Most of dependents will not be affected when they are classified under Family quota (as they have AP and EAD).
Can IV possibly consider for push for reclassification of Dependents under Family Quota ? This will reduce backlog.
Please don't take it out of context, I am not trying to hurt any EB dependents, I too have a spouse working part time using beneficiary EAD. This is more of an open question.

Just came back, here is my report:
- There were five Chinese and seven Indian people at the march. It was small fun group.
- The group was small but the outcome as you will note from my report below was productive
- Fighnow, who is the Chinese member of mittb.com had initiated this 7th July march, because of the short notice we couldn't publicize this event but still it was good to see a bunch of people show up.
- Fightnow, and his friends were fully prepared with big banners and all, with appropriate slogans
- In the beginning there was some police presence but they left an hour later, I guess because of a small group
- We carried our placards and banners on the sidewalk and got lot of "honk" support from people driving by.
- Luckily a Chinese TV station happen to be in the area and interviewed many of us. The station is called KCSN 30, if I remember correctly and this news story will air on Monday evening in Bay area. I will post details about this after hearing from fightnow.
- The parking is free on weekends.

- Organize a bigger march on 14th July
- Organize a similar event in DC if possible so get more mileage
- Prepare some banners and placards etc.

- Have fun

This is true. A majority of the Dems are sensible people. BTW, although they are against outsourcing, they are not against immigration. The two issues are quite different.

I think that what they want is the Hispanic vote taken away from the Republicans. They are a bunch of crooks. Sen Kennedy said: Anybody jumping the fence now should get a greencard.

Lets not waste our energy on those who don't believe USCIS has done anything wrong or are content with the current state of immigration....lets focus on getting more and more support to this movement.
Ohh..BTW..i had another experience that I would like to share....Today, I went to renew my Driver's license which is expiring next week. I have already applied for H1-B extension. They did not renew my DL and sent it for immigration verification to SAVE(Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements). This process takes up to 3 months and till that time I have to stay without a DL. Worst part, when i went for my DL renewal last time..they did the same and I had to go thru the hardship without a DL for 3 months. I live alone..so imagine how I will live without driving here in US. I have been in US for 6 years and have 6 years of clean driving and immigration history.
I have another friend who went thru the same last year, his condition was even worse as his wife was pregnant at that time. The poor guy had to ask his friends for favors and hire cabs to take his wife to hospital for 3 months.
All of the above, because of the broken immigration system. If we don't raise a voice now,...when will we !!!!!
