Opening threads and then burying them deep like any other thread does not help us.
Thousands of threads were opened like this and everyday we see new threads.
I strongly recommend
(1) Update your profile with true information
(2) Pledge with honesty
(3) Join a state chapter and make yourself visible and available to IV.
We can go from there
There is no other way to organize 70k or more people where everyone just open threads, discuss and then open new threads and discuss and ..... it goers on
I say this from experience - there are people working day and night for IVs cause - with a lot of dedication - there are free riders and majority of people are sitting on fence - want to do something but not quite sure what/how /why and are lost opening these threads and discussing.
Channelizing your frustration, your energies into positive energies will help us achieve our goals. So please decide if you want to move forward and do something about it - State chapters is the best route for contributing towards IV stuff

My concern is that if CIR does not get taken up sooner that May07...it may be postponed to 09 due to election politics being a hot potato issue...what I would suggest is that we start working from the first day the congress starts and whether through QGA or through indiviual senators try to pass just non-contraversial benefits like ability to file EAD after I-140, recapture of Visa numbers and Spouse and kid not included in the Visa numbers and intorduce this bill and try to pass it.
What we need is a interim EB bill.
The first stpes may be to indentify all non-contraversial issues and then come to a common understanding on those...advise all state chapters meet thier senators about these same issue(ALL members are talking the same)
Intorduce these no later than End of Jan 07 for discussion. in senate..Lets explain to them that its going on getting postponed due to the fact senators are postponing the benefits to us syaing it will be included in the CIR...and so on...they have been very sincere in delaying this intentionally....

Guys,
I never beleive in polls. The questions are always framed in such a way so that max people go and answer the way the poll wants....example below
Q1 ... Do you as an American support CIR for resolving immigration issues this country faces ?
Q2 ... Do you as an American support CIR so that illegal immigrants be a Citizen of this country ?
Looks at the above two questions, I think for Q1 lot of people would say "Yes" and "No" for the Q2, so I never beleive on the polls , the questions are always framed to get the answer the poll wants.

We Indians deserve to be waiting forever without Greencard.

You got it just right. Dear friend, this is the truth for immigrant community. Everyone here stands for their own GC, how can we expect others to fight for you. So as and when USCIS hurts different categories, people come here and form a loosely coupled organization.

You are turning a blind eye to his family, while also asking him to spend time with his family. You ask him to spend what he can on his treatment, while his insurance cover may go away if he quits his job and return to fiji/india.
There is no easy answer here.
But if he had his GC, he could spend all the time with his family, use his insurance cover at the same time, and not worry about his family going out of status.
He COULD try to expedite the GC, while also exploring other options.

Hasnt the issue of processing order been beaten to death?
I understand the momentum here....not trying to rain on a parade or anything...but shouldnt we be a little practical. How long is litigation going to take? Wont only naive lawyers even take this up?
USCIS can always pull the security reason trump card here.
moreover, during the last quarter...in the effort to not waste visas, low hanging easy to approve cases with later priority dates have gotten approved. wudnt u rather have that than visas going waste?
We have been patient for a very long time....lets see how the dates move in the 1st 2 quarters of fiscal 09.
My personal suggestion....stop worrying aout GC...there are much bigger things in life to worry about. :)

Dude, what makes you feel better? let me try, my case pd is Mar 18th 2005, RD july 2nd 2007 and ND July 28th 2007.
It is assigned to officer on 28th June, no issues with case, all are in place like name check, background check, finger prints valid till next year, officer touched my case on july 12th and 28th, no RFE sent so far as per IO and don't know why it is still sitting on officers desk. I did everything SR, 2 infopass, senators, congresswomen, Ombudsman, NSC follow up emails, SCOPSSCATTA email, nothing worked so far.
I think you will leave the boat before me, good luck.
