I-140/I-485 applied - August 2007 at TSC (non-concurrent)
I-140 approval - March 2008
Spouse 485/AP/EAD applied - August 2008 (received receipt notices)
Self EAD applied - August 2008 (received receipt notices)
Till date I have not received my FP notice. I applied for my EAD (even though I am not planning on using it) hoping to jump start my pending 485 and get the things rolling for FP and processing of 485. Surprisingly, I got my EAD approval email on Aug 17th and I received my EAD card in the mail yesterday. It is valid for 2 years. It says finger prints not available. No change in the pending 485 status.
I am totally perplexed about receiving the EAD without FP and so is my attorney. Can someone give me an idea of what is going on? Any input is appreciated! Thanks much!

I got "the letter" too...
It is just a letter recognizing that there was a SR made etc...
There really is no substance to it. You should get your letter before 45 days of creating the SR. I got mine on the 45th day.
Once again, the letter says nothing. What should happen is that your FP appointment should be made during the 45 days after you create a SR. If it is not made, you get "the letter." After the letter, I was told to wait 60 days from when I received the letter to get FP appointment and if I didn't get them within those days to call back.
Last week I called USCIS regarding FP and Customer Representative told me that they have sent me a letter on 21st of Oct regarding SR I opened in the month of OCT (I haven't received that letter yet. Do not know where they sent it). I asked her about the content of the letter but she said she doesn't have that information and I have to wait till 19th Dec to open new SR. She suggested visiting local USCIS through Infopass. I have taken infopass appointment for this coming Friday. I will update you on Friday about the appointment.

I heard in yesterday radio talk show (with PA congressman) that a new group formed by house representatives (congressmen) called "representatives for legal immigration" (exact name not known because they said they are constructing a new website too), looks like, they oppose the illegal and support legal immigration. nt sure whether they will be of any help atleast during STRIVE bill debate to bring some relief to EB.

Just because i gave my predictions which were not favorable to the person, Someone gave me a red.:mad: Guys take it sportively, We are just doing a prediction games, If someone predicts dates which is favorable or unfavorable doesn't mean USCIS / State dept will use the same dates, They will use what is on their minds.

Adding dependents/derivative is based on primary�s PD and app status.
Challenge me with a scenario that will have an issue. If someone doesn�t have H4 they will be affected anyways. They will not have additional impact due to this.
Please read INA, I485 application and current VB.
I personally believe none will be affected and left too behind (yes, they will be delayed a bit, they will have AP/EAD to hold on to).
But add the Dependents to that. Now at least you wife is coming with you. Just think if there was no H4 visa.

I just got my H1B Extension approved (8th year extension).
Original H1B was valid until Sept 2008. Changed companies after 180 days(of I485 application) and applied for H1 transfer and extension for 3 years via new company. Finally got it approved after 3 months for 3 years(until May 2011).

If that is so, no one who is on H1-b can sue their employer for exploiting them. BTW, I personally know people who have successfully sued their employer (US company) for not paying the salary they agreed.

How do you know that the visa numbers will indeed become "U", come October? Any numbers/sources to back up the claim?
I know some senior members previously indicated in these forums that there is a difference between a "U"-Unavailable and a retrogressed date of 2003 for example.

I can very well relate to your desperation and anger, but please don't react emotionally. The legal or technical fact remains that no-one guranteed us GC and truth of the matter is most of us said "No" when immigration officer asked " do you have plans to settle in State?" So their is no question of equitable treatment.
. No Sir, I can't say thier is conspiracy as I know of none. As of us doing favor? ... is completly wrong, we all knew what and why we are coming here for. Had we had better choice we would have opted for that. Let's be honest to ourselves.
That my friend is captilism and welcome to USA. No I am not going to accept, but I am also not going to wave my fist in air and cry in-justices.

After 2005, I changed my mind and we had applied twice (me and my spouse) and hence we marked yes on the question whether any immigrant application was filed on our behalf. No we did not lie there. And even if many people did, do you think those who come from Europe or visa free countries mark "yes" when they apply first time? So your point is moot there. Most people from visa free countries come here work here visa free and go back. They never even get asked a question. How come we get fingerprinted, photographed twice, interrogated twice and yet targeted when it comes to GC?
I am not against capitalism but I am against fighting injustice such as you dont get GC because you were born in India. And yes change will come but if we dont do anything we get nothing.
