My employer is also behaving exactly similar way... Spend the money from your own Pocket ( 350 med + 385 ) around $750 and ask them to just
give the Future Employment Verification Letter for 485.
I'm finishing up all forms and other activities Like Medical , Birth Certificate etc..
After that pounce on your employer for Letter + the fees for 485 + fees for your own attorney fees ... If they disagrees come to a deal with just for the Letter... You are all set then !!
If they still dont agree i'll tell them that you are resigning and immigrating to Canada (Tell them that your Canadian PR is almost approved and you have a distant relative there)

United states postal service. My lawyer sent it on june 29 and to this day it's a mestry to me how it was delivered at 10:10 pm at night. I did not think anybody would accept it. BUt if they were working on 25000 in 48 hours. The only reason i think they took it is to finish the number of visa available.

I had taken infopass and officer sent an email to TSC enquiring about current status. Today, I got snail mail reply..
"Due to the high volume of expedite requests for this case type, we are strictly enforcing the criteria that has been set for these expedite requests."

This is what I don't understand. Priority dates are set so only applications before that date can be approved. Processing dates are not set in that sense of the term.
Processing dates doesn�t mean they don�t process applications received after those dates.
I got my H1B renewal notice last week. My application�s received date is in 3rd week of Jan and Processing date for H1B extension is still in December-07.

What we are asking is just fairness and transparency in the system.
Though I will benifit if the OP's idea succeeds. I agree with eb3_nepa. We need to do something that will help everyone. Its not fair to seek relief to only some section of the community.

I am driving from Los Angeles to Bay Area on Friday (13th) evening to join the protest. I can accomodate 3 people to join the protest. You will have to find your own accomodation. Been in the US since 1998, have an EB-2 PD of 2001, have played by the rules all along. Still no GC... And, the dates are going back to 2000 from the new year.. I've lost hopes...
I'm pretty close to getting clinical depression because of this game played by USCIS, Labor Dept, FBI and my own bad luck.
SKILL bill, OMNIBUS, etc. comes and goes. IV does seem to be doing things to lobby for the community, but let's face one reality. Like a news article said, no one in congress or senate wants to touch immigration even with a long pole until 2009.
The US has been very good to me (other than the GC part), more than my home country (India) which is why I'm still here.
Have invested too much of time in this country to just pack up and go. Just curious if any of you feel this way? How do you handle such depressing feelings?

In your case , you are not in denial, you are expressing it and most importantly, you have identified the reason behind feeling hopeless and depressed.
If you can do anything to solve the problem, then do it without worrying about the outcome. If the situation is beyond your control, you are not going to solve it by worrying more about it.
Be in control. Don't let it control you.Keep yourself occupied by doing things that you like and entertain yourself.

My current employer is not willing to provide copy of I-140. I got EAD in 2nd week of October 2007. Can I change job using AC21 without copy of I-140 from current employer. What are the documents I need to change job using AC 21? Thanks in advance for your replies
Who filed your AOS? Your I-485 filing has to include an approved copy of I-140 and LC. Since I-485 is your filing, you can ask the attorney to give you a full copy of the filing (including I-140 and LC).

well, the question then would be, has anyone been denied after presenting an EVL which states the employee is a consultant ?
Getting a letter is not a big deal. What if I am a full time consultant in that company?
